Rena Anderson Sokolow is founder of one2tree, a design studio in Brookline, MA, that specializes in logo, publication, and exhibit design. From 1986 to 2001, she held several positions with the Boston Globe, including her last four serving as deputy design director. Rena’s work — which includes editorial design, corporate identities, books, posters, invitations, websites, and exhibits — has been widely recognized, including more than 75 awards from the Society of Newspaper Design and the Society of Publication Designers. In Sokolow’s own words: “Finding the right balance of text, type, color, and image is always my focus. When ideas evolve into bold visual statements, success has been achieved. While each project is unique, simplicity is the common thread.” Why one2tree? Combining words, numbers, and icons can be both powerful and fun. The name ‘one2tree’ stems from my roots in Brooklyn, NY and honors my father and his accent. In my free time I love to go hiking, biking and birding with family and friends.
